SQlab One12 2.0 – Bib Shorts with Pad

The SQ-Pad 12 of the SQ-Short ONE12 road bike shorts is only a maximum of 5 mm thick and initially feels exceptionally firm and of high quality. Comparable to sporty saddles, which are just as slim and tightly padded. The SQ-Pad 12 retains its shape, especially over longer distances. Unlike many high, soft pads, it is not pushed inwards uncomfortably during pedaling.

Hard & Thin
The SQ-Pad 12 has an adapted shape for the very sporty riding position on the road bike, in which the pelvis rotates strongly forwards. The pad, which is only a maximum of 5 mm thick, initially feels exceptionally firm and of high quality. The very thin padding becomes more and more comfortable with increasing mileage and adapts wonderfully to the shape of the body.

Customizable & comfortable
The SQ pads are universally suitable for every sit bone distance. The slight extra width ensures that the sit bones rest firmly on the pad even when pedaling and do not push inwards. Conclusion: A saddle that is too wide can lead to problems – a pad does not.

Why is the SQlab padding hard and thin?
Soft saddle myth: Seat bones absorb the body weight and can withstand high pressure. A bicycle saddle that is too soft causes the sit bones to sink in. This irritates sensitive tissue as well as muscle and tendon attachments. This means that deeply sunk seat bones lead to increased strain on the perineal area in men and the lower pubic arch in women.

Please note that the hip circumference is crucial for choosing the right size of shorts. To do this, measure horizontally at the widest part of your hips.
