The Cosmic SLR 45 Disc front wheel from Mavic combines low weight with an aerodynamic 45 mm rim height. The pursuit of weight reduction may be a universal obsession for every cyclist, but not every gram is equal. The weight of the rotating wheel mass requires additional kinetic energy for acceleration and is therefore particularly valuable – this is exactly where the Cosmic Disc wheels come in! The disc wheel is also equipped with high-quality hub technology and accepts Center-Lock brake rotors.

While tubeless wheels roll faster, they come with extra weight and the fiddling with rim tape. In search of a lightweight solution without compromising on stiffness, Mavic’s engineers went back to the drawing board and developed the new Cosmic SLR 45 wheelset.

Technologies

Fore Carbon Technology
Mavic’s Fore Carbon Technology is at the heart of the Cosmic SLR45 design. It is the result of years of research and combines low weight and improved tubeless assembly with increased stiffness and ease of repair. Fore Carbon Technology is 10% lighter and stronger than conventional wheel designs. Fore Carbon Technology spokes fit directly into a molded-in metal insert, eliminating the need to drill the upper rim bridge. This eliminates the need for rim tape, allows for easy repair and saves an additional 30g per rim.

Infinity hub
The Cosmic SLR45 is equipped with the all-new Infinity hub, which utilizes a trifecta of features that improve power transfer, durability and compatibility. Offers automatic bearing preload adjustment (QRM Auto). Designed for compatibility and ease of use, the Infinity hub can be converted to all major freewheel options and axle sizes.

UST Tubeless Technology
Traction, control and lightweight. The UST concept improves traction, control and comfort – while reducing inertia and puncture risk. Mavic’s tubeless design reduces rolling resistance, makes the wheel lighter and conjures up more riding comfort on the road.

QRM (Qualité de Roulements Mavic)
Qualité de Roulements Mavic. Mavic only uses high-quality, sealed cartridge bearings. On QRM wheels, they are double-sealed (2RS or LLU) and have a tight C3 internal clearance.
