A key feature is the integrated tongue in the medial area of the upper material, which provides a firmer grip and thus optimizes power transmission when pedalling. A fibreglass-reinforced internal heel cap additionally stabilizes the heel, which increases efficiency and safety while riding.

The BOA® Fit System with two Li2 dials offers a micro-fine, two-way adjustable fit and has been designed with greater distance between the pivot points to enable better zone adjustment and more comfort, especially in the forefoot area. The shoe is based on the CX/TX Competition last, which was specially developed for high cadences and high pedal pressure. It offers a roomier toe box, a narrower heel counter and more volume than the Sport last, allowing the foot to expand naturally under load.

The 100% carbon fiber sole is extremely lightweight, stiff and allows for efficient power transfer. It is compatible with a 3-hole cleat pattern, which allows for versatile and precise cleat positioning. With a profile specifically designed for very high cadence and higher pressure, the Competition last has a more curved profile than the Sport last. Key differences include a wider toe box and heel lift, a firmer heel and a slightly wider ball of the foot to allow the foot to expand under high pedal pressure.
