With the Black Chili Compound, a tread compound that is always based on the latest findings in polymer and raw material research, Continental has provided the cycling scene with a lasting answer. Depending on the area of use of a tire, they adjust the compound recipe specifically – whether for road bikes or mountain bikes, for time trials or downhill.
For Black Chili, Continental refines special synthetic rubbers with proven natural rubber to create particularly high-performance tread compounds. Continental then adds carbon black particles to these compounds, which in turn are optimized in terms of shape and surface properties.
