The Mondraker CRAFTY CARBON R will continue to be the benchmark in the e-bike segment in 2024, primarily due to its excellent price-performance ratio. New to the equipment list is the Bosch Kiox 500, which has a 40 percent larger color display than its predecessor. The Crafty Carbon R is equipped with the Bosch Smart System drive including wireless mini remote control, system controller and 750Wh battery and offers excellent suspension with 160mm travel at the front and 150mm at the rear. The Crafty Carbon is the most balanced model with the best overall performance in Mondraker’s range of e-mountainbikes. The carbon frame shows all the expertise Mondraker has in frame construction. Unrivaled aesthetics have been combined with the most advanced geometry and maximum stiffness. The handcrafted, elegant Stealth Air carbon frameset is the lightest in the world of E-Enduros. Mondraker’s Forward Geometry has been specially designed for 29ers and gives the Crafty Carbon an agility that is second to none. The chassis is the only one with a Zero Suspension System optimized for e-bikes and ensures optimum control and comfort.

The proven SRAM 1×12-speed drivetrain offers enough range for tough climbs. the Fox suspension with 160 mm / 150 mm travel offers superior comfort, with the Fox 38 29 Float GRIP Performance suspension fork, in combination with the Float-X LV Performance rear shock, ensuring particularly good responsiveness. The stable 29″ DT Swiss wheels naturally come in the Boost standard and are tubeless ready. The E-MTB is reliably decelerated by SRAM’s 4-piston brake system on crisp descents. STEALTH AIR CARBON
Stealth Air Carbon starts with the selection of the best high modulus carbon fibers followed by the development of a precisely designed laminate. This allows Mondraker to achieve the lowest possible weight without sacrificing reliability or stability. Based on the special components of an e-bike, the design introduces organically flowing lines and soft edges for the first time – a groundbreaking appearance full of refined aesthetics. This makes the new Crafty Carbon a true icon of e-MTBs. Its sleek yet powerful design plays a key role in the characteristic “Mondraker look” – so extraordinarily stylish that the Crafty Carbon is truly unique!

All Crafty Carbon RR SL, RR and R frames share the same Stealth Air Carbon manufacturing process and its great properties. They are all based on the same unique and exclusive construction, the selection of the highest quality carbon fibers and careful manufacturing. All this makes the Crafty Carbon the most versatile, sophisticated and exclusive e-MTB currently available.

FORWARD GEOMETRY
For 2020, Mondraker has taken the step up to 29″ Crafty models and has further improved its exclusive Forward geometry across the entire model range. The Crafty Carbon benefits from the last 8 years of Mondraker’s experience with Forward geometry. And as an e-bike, it has the best Forward Geometry they have ever created for an e-MTB: a steep seat angle of 76° guarantees an optimal and efficient riding position. The optimized chainstay length of 455 mm has been perfectly balanced to provide both maximum traction uphill and playful handling. And the typical long reach, paired with the short front center that Mondraker bikes are famous for, and the slack 65.5° head angle and short offset 160mm Fox fork provide unparalleled front wheel traction and steering precision.

Above all, the short 44mm offset of the suspension fork only fully unfolds its positive influence on the steering characteristics in combination with the long reach and short FG30 stem of the Forward Geometry. A short offset means a longer trail, which improves directional stability and makes for light-footed and extremely controllable handling. The improved grip on the front wheel is the icing on the cake, so to speak: more speed, more safety, more fun!

E-BIKE OPTIMIZED ZERO KINEMATICS
Zero is Mondraker’s patented suspension system, a technological pioneer for suspension systems with a virtual pivot point. Consisting of 2 rocker arms that compress and control the shock from both sides, Zero is a distinguishing feature of all Mondraker Full Suspension models. As with the entire 2020 model range, the Crafty Carbon introduces a further improved development stage of the Zero Suspension System, which has been specially adapted to the requirements and special features of e-MTBs.

All three Crafty Carbon RR SL, RR and R models feature FOX DPS shocks with a metric trunnion mount and internal tuning, which has been specially developed for use in the Zero Suspension System and its 150mm travel.

COOLING AIR FLOW SYSTEM
The Crafty Carbon has an innovative cooling system that directs airflow through the down tube. The air enters through openings near the head tube, flows along the battery and exits at the bottom of the down tube. This effectively dissipates the waste heat from the battery, ensuring its enormous performance even under full load.

HIDDEN HOUSING GUIDE
The Crafty Carbon features Mondraker’s HHG (Hidden Housing Guide) technology, which routes all cables and lines for the rear derailleur, brakes and – on the Crafty Carbon R and RR – the retractable seatpost inside the frame. A particular highlight is the new ICR (Integrated Cable Routing) headset from Acros, which was developed specifically for the Crafty Carbon in collaboration between Acros and Mondraker. It allows the cables to be routed through the headset from above, which ensures a tidy, clear aesthetic.

The Crafty Carbon RR SL has neither a cable for the dropper seatpost nor a shifter cable, as it has a RockShox Reverb AXS Internal Dropper Post and a Sram X01 Eagle AXS drivetrain – both electronic and wireless!

Performance upgrade and new features
A riding experience that sets new standards: From model year 2021, the Performance Line CX will provide even more riding fun on the trail – with further developed software and a maximum torque of 85 Nm. The increased torque provides extra power, which supports you even more powerfully, especially at low cadences. This leads to noticeably faster acceleration in eMTB and turbo mode and makes it much easier to start off on steep sections. Thanks to a wider cadence range, unpredictable riding situations can be mastered even better – such as when shifting gears late or accelerating out of tight bends. In cadence and turbo mode, riding remains smooth and jolt-free.

eMTB mode at the next level
The progressive riding mode for every occasion: With the enhanced eMTB mode, you are perfectly equipped for all riding situations on the trail. Thanks to the unique dynamics, obstacles can be overcome with ease by applying situational pressure to the pedals. There is hardly any pedal contact. For powerful eBiking on the mountain and in rough terrain: The eMTB mode of the Performance Line CX and Performance Line varies between Tour and Turbo riding modes. In order to control the bike even in difficult passages, the further optimized eMTB mode supports the eMountain biker with maximum sensitivity and progressive power delivery: with a maximum torque of up to 75 Nm for the Performance Line and 85 Nm for the Performance Line CX and motor support between 140% and 340%. Depending on the pedal pressure, the motor dynamically boosts the rider’s own power. The eBiker does not have to change riding modes manually. Starting off on steep climbs is no problem, progress on mountainous trails is noticeably easier and eMountain bikers benefit from significantly better traction. Bosch batteries for electric bikes are efficient and long-lasting. They are known for their high mileage and long service life and combine low weight with ergonomic design. Thanks to the intelligent battery management system, the high-quality lithium-ion batteries from Bosch are among the most modern on the market. This detects potential sources of faults and protects the cells from overloading.

Thanks to their compact size and minimalist design, Bosch PowerTubes fit perfectly into the design of the eBike. There are two ways in which the battery can be installed: horizontally or vertically. The PowerTubes from Bosch are available in 3 different capacities: 400 Wh, 500 Wh and 625 Wh. The sophisticated technology of the lithium-ion batteries, which can be integrated into the frame, ensures carefree riding fun, while a safety catch prevents them from falling out even in challenging terrain. The batteries can still be easily removed.

Advantages of Bosch PowerTube e-bike batteries

Outstanding battery efficiency
For the greatest possible riding enjoyment, the lithium-ion PowerPacks have been proven to have the highest energy density with the smallest size and lowest weight on the market.

Easy to store and quick to charge
Modern Bosch lithium-ion batteries do not suffer from memory effects or self-discharge. Depending on the charger and PowerPack, you can charge your battery to half capacity in around two hours.

Ergonomic handling
Removing the battery for charging at home is very easy. The PowerPacks can also be conveniently charged directly on the bike.

No memory effect
The Bosch rechargeable batteries with lithium-ion cells can be charged for as short a time as required, regardless of their charge status. Interruptions to the charging process do not damage the batteries. A complete discharge is not necessary.

Very low self-discharge
Even after long periods of storage, e.g. over winter, the battery can be used without recharging. Bosch rechargeable batteries therefore do not need to be recharged after a long break. For longer storage, a charge level of approx. 30 to 60 % is recommended.

Long service life
Bosch batteries are designed for many tours, kilometers and years of service. The intelligent, electronic Bosch Battery Management System (BMS) protects lithium-ion batteries from excessive operating temperatures, overloading and deep discharge.

	Bosch PowerTube 625 More is not possible: With the PowerTube 625, you can ride long and mountainous tours and have energy for every adventure. Thanks to a nominal capacity of 17.4 Ah and approx. 625 Wh energy content, the lithium-ion battery brings maximum ranges and altitude meters within reach. Well secured, the PowerTube 625 won’t fall out even on challenging terrain and can still be easily removed.
