Vectran Breaker
The reference in puncture protection: Vectran™ is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber with a natural role model. Like spider silk, Vectran™ is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran™ is spun from the melted liquid polymer Vectra and further processed to a multi-fiber yarn. Spider silk as well as Vectran™ have an enormous tensile strength at lowest weight. Just the right properties to be used as puncture protection in a Continental Top tire. A Vectran™ Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The Vectran™ Breaker does not influence the rolling resistance.
